Summer Camp Registration is Open!

BLYTHEWOOD, S.C. (February 24, 2017) – Registration for Camp Discovery’s popular Earth Keepers day camp program is now open. The complete schedule of summer offerings is available on the Camp Discovery website along with an online application.

"Earth Keepers Camp introduces children to the joys of the outdoors through incredible opportunities for hands-on fun and learning in Nature. We are inspiring a new generation of environmental stewards to form a life-long bond with the natural world," says Camp Discovery Director Joanna Weitzel.

Now in its 3rd year, the Earth Keepers summer camp program offers (4) week-long adventures for children ages 6-12. Campers participate in a wide variety of outdoor experiences including hiking, birding, stream sampling, insect collecting, crafting from natural objects and so much more! Campers also learn ecological principles about forests, meadows, streams and ponds through hands-on activities and exploration in the diverse habitats of the Camp’s 116-acre campus on Claude Bundrick Road in Blythewood.

Each week features a different theme (habitats, pollinators, animal adaptations, nature art). Parents and grandparents are encouraged to sign up children early. Space is limited to 20 campers per week.
Hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. One week is $185 ($175 with early bird registration by 3/31/17) and includes all activities and snacks. Lunch is not provided. Campers may attend more than one camp.

In addition to inviting parents to register their children, businesses, civic groups and community partners are encouraged to sponsor the costs of one or more children to attend camp. Information about Earth Keepers Camp or the Camp Discovery Scholarship Fund is available on the Camp’s website at or by email at
