“Teaching a child not to step on a caterpillar is as important to the child as it is to the caterpillar.” - Bradley Miller
Nature-based education and environmental stewardship are vital to the health and well-being of our communities and our world. Camp Discovery partners with school districts, educational institutions, corporate groups and community organizations to provide year-round outdoor recreation, environmental education and experiential learning programs and activities for over 5,000 youth and adults each year.
Students and teachers love learning at Camp Discovery! Our 116 acres of outdoor classroom is the perfect place to enhance the classroom curriculum, stimulate students' sense of discovery, and make lasting impressions that are often the highlight of the school year.
Strengthen bonds between group members, build social skills and refocuse energy on important issues in the natural spaces of Camp Discovery. Our project-based programs are designed to enhance group effectiveness and develop leadership qualities through goal-oriented experiential activities.
Our camps give children an opportunity to simply "be a kid" when they are off from school, but keep the learning going in a fun, hands-on way! Children can join us for learning and adventure at one of our summer, winter and spring break programs!
New Year's Hike, Spring Open House, the Butterfly Festival offer fun ways for the whole family to connect through nature!
Whether you want to learn more about the outdoors or fine tune your communication skills, Camp Discovery offers a variety of adult and professional development workshops where learning comes naturally! Invite our educators or naturalist to present at your event or meeting. Camp Discovery can provide programs for staff development, community or corporate events, garden clubs, conferences or other off-site programs.
Help nurture the next generation of young minds and hearts!
