Participants
- people who have emotional/behavioral challenges (including those identified as academically talented, at-risk, members of families experiencing difficulty, members of households in poverty and others from situations that might produce special needs),
- people who have mental challenges or disabilities,
- people who have physical challenges or disabilities and
- people who are members of organized youth groups and senior citizens. These groups are ancillary and serve as both recipients of services as well as volunteers.
While most guests attend as a group, individual or small group attention is available for victims of trauma or others issues of a more intimate nature.
Guests who commonly make field trips to Camp Discovery are from public schools (scheduled by guidance counselors, administrators, teachers), private schools, counseling centers, children's homes, after-school programs, alternative schools, police-protected programs, mental health programs, physicians, support groups, clubs, Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts, youth groups from any denomination of church and seniors.
