CAMP DISCOVERY PROGRAMMING

Nature-based education and environmental stewardship are vital to the health and well-being of our communities and our world. Camp Discovery partners with school districts, educational institutions, corporate groups and community organizations to provide year-round outdoor recreation, environmental education and experiential learning programs and activities for over 5,000 youth and adults each year.

EARTH KEEPERS SUMMER CAMP

Earth Keepers Day Camps offer a fun and safe way for children ages 7-12 to learn about nature through a week of outdoor adventure, exploration, and discovery. Each day takes children on an exciting journey to reveal the wonders of the natural world using the forests and creeks of Camp Discovery!

DISCOVERY DAYS

Students and teachers love learning at Camp Discovery! Our 116 acres of outdoor classroom is the perfect place to enhance classroom curriculum, stimulate a sense of discovery, and make a lasting impression that is often the highlight of the school year. Discovery Days field trips are aligned with the current SC Academic Science Standards and engage the next generation of environmental stewards through hands-on, immersive learning in the fields of Life Science, Physical Science and Earth Science.

DISCOVERY-TO-GO

Discovery-To-Go Programs have been developed to bring the Camp Discovery experience into the classroom. Discovery-To-Go Programs are engaging and interactive. Students use critical thinking and team work to collaboratively solve STEM challenges. The session includes literature and engaging materials and highlights environmental stewardship as another key component of each Discovery-To-Go Program.

STEM/TEAM BUILDING

Project-based learning strengthens communication between group members, builds social skills and allows students to think critically. Activities are challenge-based and combine team work and perseverance to achieve success.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT

Camp Discovery offers professional development retreats for school faculty and community business groups. Custom program components include team building challenges, low ropes elements, Yoga, STEM education strategies, and a variety of relaxing activities. Amy Ellisor, Executive Director, and her leadership team will work with you to tailor an agenda that best meets the needs of your group. Camp Discovery can provide programs for staff development, community or corporate events, conferences or other off-site programming.
